Well well, what a day, Flamin' June an all that. The results on the website are all provisional, we had a few problems in the latter stages of the Men's Race because of water in the clocks, but hope to have a complete set of results up on the website before mid-week. Meanwhile, if anyone has any issues or anybody feels that we have got their times wrong please email us on keithandpauline01@btinternet.com. Please click read more for full story. The Race started wet, got worse and only stopped when you had all gone home!! Lakeland stair-rods comes to mind. Well done all of you, you looked great, you were a happy, lovely group of people and it did me good to see you all enjoying yourselves. although in a sadistic kind of way!!!
By the time the Prizegiving happened some of the girls were feeling cold and I'm not surprised, sorry girl's, separate races are not always a good idea. At this point you have to think of the marshalls, who really felt the weather today, again two races is a lot to wait upon, we had more than 20 marshalls out on the hill and more 25 around the route caring for the runners including First Aiders, Nat Trust Personnel etc etc absolutely well done to them, thanks guys.
There were a couple of casualties, a lady spent the afternoon and night in RSH after a spectacular fall right into the arms of one of the First Aiders on the Course, she is making a wonderful recovery and has to be congratulated on her sense of timing! Another competitor who was suffering from a bad case of hypothermia, was being looked after in a B & B in Church Stretton.
I am happy that this race was seen as a good course, well marked and marshalled, on the day it needed navigational skills, a certain amount of mountain savvy and some common sense, you had it all, well done and lets see you at the Valleys Weekend in February......... now that's a different story.
Photographs of the race can be seen on Alastair Tye's Website www.fellrunningpictures.co.uk
Also on John Richards' site as soon they are uploaded www.uksportpictures.com
