QUIZ NIGHT - The Ragleth Inn - Friday 22nd January - Fundraiser for BESS ROBSON

There will be a fun filled Quiz Night held at the Ragleth Inn, Little Stretton, on Friday 22nd January 2010 at 7.30.  Pre-enter your team of four by ringing Pauline on 01743 352387. Cost £5 per person. Prizes for winning team, extensive raffle and luscious supper. Elaine and Pauline are hosting this evening in aid of furthering youthful outdoor adventure in the third world and to support our young friend BESS ROBSON (daughter of Rick and Jan) in her 12 month appointment as Youth Trainer/Ambassador at an outdoor activity centre in West Cape, South Africa.  Bess has been chosen from lots and lots of other young people by PROJECT TRUST, this is a charity based on the Hebridean Isle of Coll, that gives students the opportunity to participate in voluntary work overseas.  Bess has already had quite a journey to get this far, so lets hear it in her own words:
"I will be working at an outdoor activity centre in West Cape.  My year will consist of teaching climbing, sailing and canoeing to disadvantaged children under the age of 14 from a wide range of social and ethnic backgrounds.  Whilst I am working there, no jobs will be taken away from locals as it is an additional post.  I will be helping the children to further their personal development by encouraging them to build their self esteem and confidence, team work and English skills. I will thoroughly enjoy participating in this, as I have always been interested in outdoor activities and feel it will be a fantastic opportunity for me to experience"
Bess has pledged to fundraise £4,850.00 so let's help her succeed.  You can check Bess's fundraising progress on a blog at:  http://besslearnsafrikaan.blogspot.com.
