Shropshire Hill Winter Series 2007 - 2008 After 5 Races

Roland Stafford

The latest League Table from The Shropshire Hills Winter Series 2007/2008 are now posted for viewing on the results page of the website, Roland Stafford has taken the lead in the men's competition for the first time following his excellent run at the Carding Mill Canter replacing Pete Ball who has been in the lead ever since the second race of the year at The Wrekin Wrecker, the two of them will now need to go all out on the last race to see who can win the Series, they will need to keep an eye out for Tim Werrett, Andi Davies and Pete Vale who have only completed two races so far, but with a good run at The Wrekin Fell Race on April 13th...... who know's? The M40's will be having their own battle, Ian Hughes leads so far with 295 points but if Roger Lamb beats Ian on the day it could all change. In The M50's and M60's it looks like Edward Davies and Colin Williamson have done enough to win their classes already.
In the Ladies Race Anna Bartlett had all but won the series after the first 3 races, but having one of her best races to date at Cardingmill Canter, who could doubt she will be rightful winner, the tightest race of all will come on the L40 category, Val Swingler leads at present on 239 points but is followed 3 points behind by both Lisa Garside and Julie Cowley, In the L50's Helen McDonald Jones looks like making it 3 series wins in a row.
Presentations for the Winter Series will take place following the Wrekin Streak on April 23rd
