5 Peaks Challenge - Leg 4

The team made it to ferry and headed out across the Irish Sea for the last two peaks of the challenge, they will have driven through Belfast and down the coast to Newcastle, setting off runing at first light over Donard Bridge up a wooded glen, this is the shortest of the runs they will do over the weekend, its about 3mile but rises steeply all the way from sea level to the summit at 853m, navigation is made easy by first following the Glen River to the saddle between Slieve Commedagh and Slieve Donnard, you then turn left and follow The Mourne Wall, a 2m high dry stone wall that encircles the whole range of hills, when you get to the top its chocks away and back by the same route, by now it would have been light and they would be able to enjoy the full beauty of the area they were running in, but there will be not time to spare as they still have a long drive ahead for the last peak in the far Southern Western tip of Eire
