I am contacting local running clubs to let them know about an exciting new 5k run that I am organising this year.
Visibility for most of the course was about 20 feet today and the forecast is similar for tomorrow, so those of you wishing to take part, please make sure you bring a map and a compass as well as the normal FRA kit (full body cover and a whistle). Even those of you that think you know the Long Mynd will find navigation tricky. So bring a map and compass, 20 feet is only a few seconds in terms of your separation from others - you'll be alone before you know it!
Anybody who fancies making a career out of sports development and loves being in the Shropshire hills may want to check out this job on offer from the National Trust.
I'm looking for marshalling help for the Cardingmill Canter on Saturday 9th March. Any help offered will be gratefully received. You can text me on 07850 654157 or call me on 01694 725597. (I can offer a bribe for Mercia members - you get points in the championship!). Sorry for the terseness of this, but those of you that know me will know I'm a bit of a robot.
Telford Parkrun starts this Saturday at 9am by the Town Park Visitor Centre - see the link. All you need to do first is register on line and print out the barcode pdf they send you. You just turn up and start. At the finish they scan your barcode which contains all your details and your time gets united with your name and whacked in the results. It's great fun and all the info you need is at the link below!
We have loads of lost property in our utility, now washed and dried! If you were brain dead yesterday after the race and think you left some kit, get in touch? A car key was picked up by the Sweep (Jane) on the race route up Callow. I also have that. Pauline 01743 352387
This years' Longmynd Valleys Race was truly a battle against the weather, in nearly thirty years there has never been such a tussle, in the past we have had snow, rain, wind, mud, ice and thunder & lightening everything! But today, this cool, quiet, rainy day at ground level was THE day that nearly just "did" for everyone.
