A combination of Englands match in the World Cup and an International Race in Sedbergh this weekend, meant we had a slightly diminished field this evening, not to worry, that gave us at the back a chance to pick up a few extra points, but up the sharp end the battle was as full on as ever, I can only imagine how hot it must have felt up at the front, on that second climb, after another hot day, that was not stopping Steve Cale though, this time last year Steve was leading the series through consistency, rarely winning a fell race, but alway up there at the front, this year he is dominating

This Wednesday sees the annual Rodney's Pillar / Shroppy Handicap
race from Criggion Village Hall, the race as the added twist that when
we come to work out the results we take into account how you have done
in previous races and adjusts your time accordingly, the results is
just about anyone can win, the prize giving is fun too, with a special
twist, hope you can join us,

Rick Robson kindly took the first road junction marshalling spot for me this year, but mentally registered a spot of disgruntlement on the basis that I’d clearly allowed a hopeless false start as there was no way that this bloke in the green vest could possibly be that far ahead in the first 400 yards of the race, particularly as it was all downhill from the off…………………….
