Something different in Attingham Park. It is not a fell race in fact the organisers struggled to find much of a hill for the route but a cracking 5 mile cross country around the parkland and woods with added water features and fences etc. So good fun and the family and spectators get into the Attingham Park grounds free!­­

Mercia leads Vasque Ultra Running Championship 2008

Mercia is currently leading the team championship, David Waide is leading the vet 50 and Andy Davies is 2nd overall. Not bad! See Leader board after 8 races.

A new 3 race multi-terrain race series based in mid wales over the winter months.

As promised earlier this season a new event has been planned to offer an opportunity for younger runners to have a go at fell running. In this event no senior runner can enter unless they are teamed up with an Under 16 runner. ( No junior can run without a Senior either). The combined ages of the runners will be taken into account for the prizes.

Gill breaking the Peris Horshoe L50 record

It is with deep sadness that Phil Harris would like fellow members and his running friends to know of the death of his beloved wife Gill.  Gill left us peacefully on Wednesday 6th August at home with her family and loved ones around her.
A celebration of Gills' life was held at St. Peters' Church, Rushbury, near Church Stretton on Tuesday 26th August, followed by a short service at the Shrewsbury Crematorium and reception at the Longville Arms at Longville. an estimated 400 mourners turned out for the service

20th UKA British Fell and Hill Relay 2008 - YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU

This year the FRA Relays are to be held locally in the Clwydian Hills on Sunday the 19th October. They will be based at Llangynhafal in Denbighshire, which for most Mercians is quite accessible. There are four legs to the Relay, 2 solo legs and 2 pairs'  legs, some legs are partially marked and they vary in length from 5.5 miles to 9 miles. All the routes are covered by OS map Explorer Clywdian Range.
