10 days to go

I passed on my first Meirionnydd date, so missed the Bala Beano link up. Weather wasn't brilliant plus a niggly injury.
So it's looking like 22 May ....

Dark Peak 15 Trigs

I ran this 55mi, 8500ft route yesterday with Mary Gillie (Clwydians), in 13:07.  Great day out, perfect conditions with high cloud, cool breeze and the peat drier than we dared hope given how wet it's been.

RobW - The Fellrunning years!

My mate Myrddyn Phillips has taken to interviewing hill people.  This video was recorded on the day of the Club Dinner as it happens.

Very snowy Meirionnydd recce

Text from Bill Williamson late Thurs eve: Lots of snow here Rob, may need a rethink on distance. Well a bit late to cancel and anyway he was there already. Luckily David Waide managed to get hold of the latest spec Range Rover from work...

Ultra Summit #50

I bagged my 50th Ultra-prominence* summit 2 weeks ago in France , closely followed by #51 (Gran Canaria) and #52 (Madeira) - anything to delay the onset of winter!  Reports:-
Puy de Sancy: (a tour of the Massif Central)
Pico de las Nieves: (an interesting rock climb)

OMM 2009

Finally got round to doing the Elite. First Mixed team, with Mary Gillie (Clwydians). Nav & route execution could have been sharper but no complaints, Great weekend. Any other Mercians do it?

Meiri - nearly made it

Well, I did 21 hours then the weather turned with a vengeance. It was a great day out though - excellent support team and we all enjoyed ourselves - even me! Notably we only saw 1 group of walkers all day.  Rumours about next May... More on p14 of the FRA Forum thread:

Meirionnydd - 18 July or bust

Weather not friendly this Saturday so it'll be next weekend. AndyD is on BG support duty elsewhere but DavidW is up for a decent chunk of it. Looking forward to it! I think !?

Meirionnydd Round - on for 11 or 18 July

Well, the SWT-induced foot injury is finally behind me. All systems go for July - date t.b.c. depending on the weather. Good support team featuring a few Mercians: ultra stalwarts David Waide and Andy Davies; Lawrie Jones; maybe Pete Vale too. Really looking forward to it. I think :-O Only 2 weeks to go :-O :-O

Meirionnydd Round - postponed - now 11/18 July

I've been struggling with a couple of injuries so have had to postpone my attempt. If you can make either of the above dates, let me know - a bit more Mercia support would be brilliant.
